Reaching out to our contacts in InnerCHANGE WORKS and beyond.  I’m inspired by your interest in international issues and new projects both local and global for social change.

I am so very honored and excited to be launching this blog today!

You may know InnerCHANGE WORKS (ICW) for the educational and health-related work we’ve been doing in Nicaragua over these last 15 years.  We are grateful for being connected with many of you for years now.  And for new people just getting to know us and ICW, we welcome you with socially distanced open arms.  We have a broad network of internationally connected people with a commitment to socially responsible work and travel and global friendships with a mission of environmental and cultural sustainability on both personal and professional levels.

We are launching a new program within our non-profit, ICW, called “Go for Good Travel.”  This is a “people connecting with people” approach to destination service travel.  This approach is modeled closely with the “People to People” program within the US State Department around the world that many of you may be familiar with.

At this time of the Covid-19 virus, and the worldwide pandemic, which has been requiring us to shelter in place, socially distance and limit our travel, both domestically and internationally, it occurred to us that there is no better time to take a journey from our homes!  We want to tell you stories, inspire you and introduce you to some very important women leaders and entrepreneurs through our new blog, “Tapestry”.

At this time, when we cannot travel to our destination sites, Tapestry will be introducing you to people from Nicaragua and Tanzania, and letting them tell you their stories, their triumphs, their visions, and so much more.

These women are weaving colorful and exciting new tapestries by connecting people around the globe in coffee growing and sustainable, gender-based farming in Nicaragua to seaweed farming in Zanzibar, coffee growing and roasting, beading in Maasai country, and hospitality business and cultural tourism in Tanzania, and that is just the beginning...

Would you like to meet some of these amazing women from Nicaragua and Tanzania and beyond?  Stay tuned and check back often!  More to follow soon…

Until soon, hasta pronto, asante sana, stay safe and in good health,
Janet Foerster
